All lichen descriptions are accompanied by photographs. The mapping tools on Biology.ie are available to each described species. Paul Whelan, author of Lichens.ie, said 'they complement each other very well, one being for mapping Ireland's biodiversity and Nature's Calendar (phenology) while the other is a species descriptive site.
